The project.

Steeped in 18th-century history, The Rochester Corn Exchange is an exclusive venue offering an undisputed level of luxury for private events, including everything from weddings and birthdays to commercial business events.

The building accomodates up to 450 guests, to celebrate against The Rochester Corn Exchange’s elegant backdrop of magnificent beauty and architectural features.

The challenge.

The Rochester Corn Exchange underwent a refurbishment to provide facilities that could cater to large-scale functions and ensure the smooth running of celebrations.

The client required a modern and stylish washroom solution to align with the building’s focus on artistic design, as well as being able to withstand heavy ongoing footfall with back-to-back events.

Our Accredited Installers, T-IPS, expertly installed the durable washroom systems, streamlining the process to ensure the facilities were fully operational and ready to cater to guests.

The solution.

The floating, flush front design of Unity toilet cubicles is achieved with setback satin anodised aluminium pedestals fixed to the partitions, making them the ideal solution for this building’s sleek and modern interior.

The striking Unity cubicles were specified in hardwearing, impact-resistant High Pressure Laminate (HPL) for a durable washroom solution that can withstand the expected high footfall. Unity also features robust hardware as standard, including emergency release indicator bolts to allow rapid access to locked cubicles for enhanced safety and security.

Our industry-leading pre-plumbed panelling system, Vepps, was installed in the washrooms at a 50% faster rate compared to plain panel alternatives to readily begin accommodating guests.

Vepps allowed the client to hand-pick cutting-edge sanitaryware, including concealed urinals and complementing modesty screens which are rigorously tested at our manufacturing facility before being installed for added peace of mind, as well as optimum user comfort.

The Rochester Corn Exchange opted for our durable K3 profile HPL vanity units to guarantee a hardwearing, seamless vanity solution. The vanity units, toilet cubicles and Vepps panelling were all specified in matching ‘Dark Walnut’ HPL to create a natural wood design, for a calming and sophisticated washroom interior.

For a complete washroom package, baby changing units were specified with an anti-roll edge, offering generous spacing and enhanced safety for guests to tend to young children. Baby change units with a HPL surface are both seamless and easy to maintain and wipe clean for increased hygiene.
